Guardians of L.U.S.T. 0.8.1: Gunslinger improvements and fixes
Shorter turns with a shared charge budget, stance switching, target selection in Aim and a long list of fixes.
Greetings, agents! Rocketman on comms.
0.8.1 is out: download the new build.
This patch brings Gunslinger adjustments and fixes based on your feedback on 0.8.0 and my own playtesting.
Gameplay
- Shorter turns with a shared charge budget: you start with 3 charges, rising to 4 through progression. Shooting and changing stance use the same pool. Every third resonant shot gives one bonus charge, at most once per turn.
- Switch stance for one charge. This breaks your combo and moves the cylinder’s stance cycle to the chosen position. Your next shot continues from there.
- Reload also ends your turn. It refills empty chambers and clears jams while keeping unspent rounds, their order, your stance and combo. Reload is highlighted when you can’t fire.
- Choose your target in Aim stance. Click an enemy to move the selection frame and see the HP preview, then press Fire.
- Removed automatic countershots, dodges and charge delays from stances. Ammo effects and equipment still let you manage enemy threats.
- Mission briefings and revealed encounters show enemy threats: armour, charged attacks, ally buffs, healing and burning.
- Reworked enemy attack patterns and more damage from bursts, heavy shots and grenades.
- New opening actions for 12 enemies: armoured fighters attack sooner, and Orion riflemen use different attack sequences. Vespa’s opening attack hits harder.
- Cylinder unlocks are spread out more. The Speed Cylinder now has two Duelist shots in a row in its cycle.
- Tier II ammo rewards are spread out too. Incendiary rounds come with Ignis’s first personal episode, ricochet rounds with the Yeti hunt.
- The Fire tooltip shows targets, charge cost and shot effects. Holding a stance button opens its description without selecting it.
- New equipment no longer equips itself. Your six chosen rounds stay chosen as the story progresses and battles begin.
Fixes
- Eight modules were wrongly classed as cylinders. They now use the accessory slot; existing saves keep owned items and valid equipment.
- Regular bikers, barbarians and prisoners no longer heal.
- Corrected enemy groups: barbarians replace zombies in Assaria’s quest, and a prisoner replaces the zombie guard on the way back to the prison.
- Combat tooltips use specific enemy names instead of generic labels.
- Restored Astrid’s missing comic and animated NSFW scene in Assaria’s quest. Completed saves can open the episode in Memory without getting the quest rewards again.
- Fixed loading of Assaria’s personal scene after training.
- Ignis’s comic and animation no longer replay automatically in her later personal quest. The conversation and the consequences of your choices stay; the original episode is in Memory.
- Fixed all five Wiggle & Giggle act titles in seven languages, including Memory playback.
- Fixed inconsistent fonts and capitalization in Portuguese interface labels, including the text under Disparar.
- Shorter stance descriptions and updated combat rules, tutorials and targeting descriptions in all seven languages.
- 12 tutorial images replaced with current gameplay screenshots.
- Mission images no longer cover descriptions. The Loadout button no longer overlaps the quest title on the map.
- Difficulty labels and the update notice refresh when you change the interface language.
- Fixed music tracks dropping out or overlapping during transitions (at least I hope we did).
Thank you for your support, feedback and bug reports! I’ll keep releasing fixes based on your feedback and my own playtesting.
End of transmission.
