Guardians of L.U.S.T. 0.6.1: Match-3 balance and a polished prologue

A fully proofread prologue, smarter and more restrained enemies, cooldowns and charges for abilities.

Greetings, agents! Rocketman on comms.

0.6.1 is out: download the new build.

0.6.1 is a balance, proofreading and stability update based on your feedback on 0.6.0. It improves Match-3 combat and revises the whole prologue. There’s no new quest and no new story content this time.

What’s in 0.6.1

  • The whole prologue proofread. The full prologue text was reviewed, edited and synced across all supported languages.
  • A clearer early story. Mission objectives, investigation details, dialogue flow, speakers, terminology and transitions were revised throughout the prologue.
  • Smarter enemies. The AI goes for the resources its planned ability needs and avoids repeating the same special ability when it has alternatives.
  • Calmer enemy turns. Enemies can no longer cast several abilities in one turn, and their extra-turn chains are limited.
  • Ability balance. Some player and enemy abilities now have cooldowns, limited charges, individual priorities and repeat limits.
  • Better combat HUD. Remaining cooldowns and charges are shown right in combat.
  • Field control. Grenades and dynamite can clear nearby field hazards.
  • Automatic board recovery. A Match-3 board with no legal moves is reshuffled automatically.
  • Less visual noise. Special gems no longer wiggle all the time.
  • Encounter balance. Several early fights and boss fights got more balance changes.
  • Progression fixes. Expedition maps, events, rewards and scene transitions.
  • Localization. The revised story and gameplay text is synced across all supported languages.
  • General fixes to visuals, audio, progression and stability.

What’s next

Version 0.7.0 is planned for next week. It adds Assaria’s personal quest and continues the full proofreading into Chapter 1.

Please report unclear dialogue, progression problems and enemies that still feel repetitive.

End of transmission.
