Guardians of L.U.S.T. 0.5.4, new languages and a Steam page
The game now has a page on Steam. In 0.5.4: a reworked prologue, five new languages and six equipment slots.
Greetings, agents! Rocketman on comms.
Our Steam page is live!
Please add Guardians of L.U.S.T. to your Steam wishlist if you can, it helps us a lot. There’s no demo or extra content on Steam yet: all of that is still with subscribers and on itch.io.
Why Steam? Reaching Steam has always been our goal, but we’re not leaving the other platforms. We’ve always planned to keep a more varied, uncensored version for subscribers, since Steam doesn’t allow every kink.
0.5.4 is out: download the new build.
What’s in 0.5.4
- Reworked prologue. The start of the game has been overhauled: an investigation chain now leads up to the bar comic, for a smoother start as an agent. Texts were updated and proofread.
- New languages. A first draft of German, Simplified Chinese, French, Spanish (Latin America) and Portuguese (Brazil). Switch the language in the settings. I’ll keep improving the translations in the next updates.
- Six equipment slots and builds. Weapon, armour, accessory, belt, helmet and implant. You can swap builds between fights.
- New prologue gear. Injectors, a starter capacitor, a threat visor, a foam grenade, an assault vest and more. Items can now change starting mana, gem drop rates, starting gems and extra-turn resources.
- Defensive tactics. On Normal the player’s total HP is lower, so defensive items (armour, medkits, field clears, counter-abilities) matter much more than a passive HP pool. For example, RiotVest now gives an active defensive ability instead of extra HP.
- Match-3 improvements. A board with no moves reshuffles for free. The new EMP_module counters shields, traps and enemy mana.
- The voice of Joy. Joy is becoming a bigger part of the story. Your relationship with «her» will affect the ending. This is only the beginning of her voice!
- Interface and fixes. Fixed Gaia’s sprite scaling in dialogue and several problems with answer buttons and panels.
Match-3 and what’s next
Match-3 lets us design every enemy individually, make fights varied and give a strong sense of progression. Right now I’m adding tactical depth through items and builds. I’m focusing on three playstyles: manipulating the board, expensive high-impact abilities, and many cheap abilities that scale with outside buffs.
Thank you for your support and your kind words!
End of transmission.
