Magic Academy 0.7.5 (Resonantia): text effects, sound and Japanese
Dialogue that shakes, flashes and sounds, more audio across the game, a Japanese translation and new story content.
It’s time for a new Magic Academy update. In 0.7.5 (Resonantia) we added a new text FX and SFX system, kept working on audio, added a Japanese translation and new story content, and fixed Gallery unlocks for the Personal Conflict endings.
Subscribers can already play the alpha.
New content
- A new quest with the Lightbringers.
- A new scene with Rowena.
- Elizabeth’s romance storyline continues with new comics about her new interest.
Text and dialogue
- Text now fades in letter by letter instead of appearing instantly.
- Text FX: colour highlights, shaking, flashes and other effects for important words, emotions and scene beats.
- Text SFX: sounds can now play when specific words appear in a line.
- The dialogue box can shake when a scene needs a sudden action, an impact or a sharp moment.
- FX intensity and behaviour can be adjusted in the settings.
Audio
- New sounds for interface buttons.
- New sounds for the Path Search, Runes, Wiring, Potions and Spells minigames.
- New sounds and effects for the Match-3 resource game.
- New hover and click sounds for location objects.
- New sounds on the Journey map: token movement, clicks, events and battles.
- New sounds for the Journey inventory panel.
Localization
- Added a Japanese translation.
Gallery and fixes
- Completing any ending of Personal Conflict now unlocks all ending scenes from that storyline in the Gallery. This also works with old saves.
